Doosan Corporation (Chairman Yongmaan Park) awarded to students scholarships amounting to US$ 70,735 at an award ceremony held for the ‘Youth Start!’ scholarship program at Doosan Tower in Euljiro 6-ga, Jung-gu, Seoul on March 13.
The ‘Youth Start!’ scholarship program is jointly managed by the Seoul Scholarship Foundation and operated with funds raised through donations by executives and staff members of Doosan Corp.
This year’s thirteen recipients of the scholarship were selected through document screening and interviews conducted by Doosan executives and staff. The recipients are among high school students who were admitted to college but could not afford college education due to the economic difficulties.
President Gwang-ju Choi of Doosan Corp. said, “Our executives and staff members raise the funds on a voluntary basis, and operate a fund management committee, as part of our proactive participation in efforts to improve the educational welfare of the underprivileged,” adding, “I hope that these students will grow to become talented human resources of the future by taking full advantage of this opportunity.”
