2014. 7. 13

On July 13, Doosan announced it is offering early childhood psychology education for instructors at the company’s childcare center.

Under the program, instructors will receive 52 hours of training over a two-year span on how to strengthen the mental health of children under 5.

The first class was held in Seoul on July 12, and 48 instructors in Seoul and Changwon are enrolled in the beginner’s course, which lasts until November this year.

“Early childhood is when the brain develops at the fastest rate and stable bonds are formed with people, so it is of utmost importance to help children have stability during this period,” said Kyungsook Lee, professor in the Department of Rehabilitation at Hanshin University, who leads the program. “Significantly, Doosan is the first company in Korea that has adopted an early childhood psychology education program.”

Doosan has childcare centers in its major business sites across Korea, including Seoul, Incheon and Changwon. It plans to expand the early childhood psychology education and training program to local communities around its business sites.
