Doosan Infracore(CEO Yongsung Kim) participated in a Korean expo held in Myanmar, as the Company stepped up its efforts to enter the Myanmar construction equipment market, in earnest, by introducing a new 34-ton excavator to the country.
Doosan Infracore participated in the ‘Korean Expo 2012, Yangon,” which was hosted in Myanmar by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, from November 8 to 11. At the expo, the Company displayed its 22.5-ton excavator(DX225LCA) and 30-ton excavator(DX300LC) and offered visitors a chance to experience the equipment in person, while providing sales consultations to local buyers.
Doosan Infracore will hold a ceremony in Yangon, on November 17, to commemorate the launch of its 34-ton excavator(DX340LCA), which has been optimized for operation in small and mid-sized mines in Myanmar. The Company will introduce its product, service and parts supply policy in order to impress upon Myanmar customers that Doosan is a “reliable and trustworthy company.”
The Myanmar construction equipment market consists primarily of equipment for mining and civil engineering and is robustly growing, with a market value that has expanded ten-fold over the past 10 years. The market grew to an annual volume of 1,900 units in combined sales last year, ranking about 30th in the world. Doosan Infracore entered the Myanmar market in 2010 through local dealerships. By providing equipment and a service optimized for worksites in Myanmar, the Company has expanded its market share in the country from 2 percent in 2010 to 13 percent this year.
A Doosan Infracore source said, “Currently, the Myanmar construction equipment market is expected to witness a strong surge in demand in the areas of infrastructure construction and resources development.” The source added, “By securing demand for our equipment aimed at the mining sector, including mid- to large-sized excavators and articulated dump trucks(ADT), we will continue to expand our market share in the Myanmar construction machinery market.”
