Doosan Infracore(CEO Yongsung Kim) opened a Parts Distribution Center in Singapore and officially started its operation on November 16.
With the establishment of this Parts Distribution Center in Singapore, the Company will significantly reduce the time required to deliver parts for stock orders in six major countries in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. As for any parts that may be in urgent need, the Company will reduce the air-borne delivery time from two to five days in the past to a two-day overnight delivery period.
The Southeast Asian market has seen a constant increase in the sale of large-sized construction equipment largely based on the natural resources industries in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Myanmar. Notably, since the machine operating ratio is high in those regions, parts demand has been increasing significantly. In a move to cope with the surging demand, Doosan Infracore plans to expand the geographical scope of its Singapore Parts Distribution Center’s service to encompass 14 countries.
A Doosan Infracore source said, “The establishment of the Parts Distribution Center is one of the results of our ‘strategy to boost our global service and parts competitiveness’, which calls for the construction of a 24-hour worldwide parts distribution network by 2016.” The source added, “We will establish additional parts distributions centers in China and Dubai next year.”
Meanwhile, Doosan Infracore operates its Main Parts Distribution Center in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, Korea, and other Parts Distribution Centers in the U.S., Britain, Belgium and India, and plans to increase in phases its parts distribution centers around the world.
