This new forestry machine, DX225FM, was developed to reflect the details requested by the customers in forestry as much as possible, and now finally the first machine will be released this year.
A forest is full of obstacles with bunch of trees and shrubs, and wood pieces and teeth of saw blade are frequently thrown out; for these reasons, there have been voices of customers for a stronger and safer machine.
In order to meet this need, the special application is equipped with reinforced undercarriage with taller height from the ground, which allows it a better accessibility to worksite and outstanding traveling performance on rough surface. Furthermore, protection covers and supportive structures are added to many points of the upper body and the front to protect the machine and the operator from external shock.
In particular, a box-shape HD ROPS cabin (Oregon-type cabin) with reinforced structure, which is widely used in forestry sites in North America, is installed to the machine, along with specially-processed bulletproof polycarbonate glass around the operator chair, to ensure safety of operator. Another point of differentiation is that the machine is structured to support various types of attachments for logging and has hydraulic supply system to provide greater work efficiency.
The first pilot machine will be transported to a forestry site in South America for actual operation and will be evaluated by the customers there. Customer feedback will be further collected for development of the final version of the machine for commercial launching in 2021.
Now with DX225LL (Log Loader) and the new DX225FM, Doosan Infracore has a stronger lineup of 20T-class forestry machines. With special characteristics and sales points, Doosan Infracore expects the new machine will be used in diverse environments for various purposes including logging, log loading, and worksite preparation, to further raise satisfaction levels of our customers in forestry.
