On February 17 and 26, Doosan Infracore kicked off the production of the next-generation excavators and first model loaders in compliance with the emissions standards of North America and Europe. The two new models are expected to drive the growth of Doosan Infracore in years to come. The main emissions standards in the advanced markets are Tier 4 Final (North America) and Stage 4 (Europe). Tier 4 Final is tougher than the other, as it requires the reduction of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particulate matter (PM) by 96% against Tier 1 levels (1997). Since 2014, products that fail to meet the standards set for each type cannot be sold in the North American and European markets. Accordingly, Doosan Infracore has invested about 40 billion won in the past three years to develop new products.
Extended Warranty Term of 3 Years or 6,000 Hours
The first type of new excavator produced was the 30-ton type, which has the highest market share in Korea. It is a product that best satisfies customers, as reflected in its high sales volume. It is not only equipped with environmentally friendly diesel engines to meet the legislative requirements in the advanced market, but it also has extended the lifespan of the main components, such as the engine, hydraulic components and front. As Doosan Infracore takes great pride in the quality, the quality warranty time has expanded to three years or 6,000 hours. Among others, new Smart Power Control (SPC) technology was incorporated to save about 5% of the fuel used by an excavator. It is a technology that enables monitoring power outputs needed by the machine and limits unnecessary power outputs.
At the production ceremony, Dongyoun Sohn, President of the Doosan Infracore Research & Development Division, commented, “I’m delighted to see that the 30-ton excavator DX300LC-5* is finally released, and my thanks go to all of you for your hard work.” He also added, “I hope the new products become a new sensation in the advanced market.”
