Doosan Infracore carries out community involvement activities around the world In commemoration of the company’s birthday on June 4, Doosan Infracore designated June 2 to 6 as Global Volunteer Week and carried out a variety of community involvement activities, both in and out of Korea. The volunteer program, which had previously been operating in Korea only with the name Dream Community Day, was expanded to overseas sites in North America and China this year. Starting from next year, employees in Europe, the Middle East and Africa will also participate in the program.
In Korea, the volunteer program has been in place for four years. This year’s program was dubbed “Loving Home”, and over 140 employees from Seoul, Incheon, Gunsan and Changwon visited local
Welfare facilities to deliver gifts and carried out environmental clean-up activities. In North America, employees of Doosan Bobcat and Doosan Infracore Portable Power (DIPP) also participated in Global Volunteer Week with the theme of “Doosan Day of Caring.” In Fargo, Atlanta,
Gwinner, Bismark, Wahpeton, Lichfield and Statesville, 387 employees cleaned parks and zoos. Some employees who joined Habitat for Humanity, the international non-governmental organization, to repair old houses in their communities received attention from the local press.
In China, employees of DICC, DISD and DISC also engaged in cleanup activities such as cleaning the river and parks in their communities. The employees of the Beijing branch cleaned apartment complexes in the neighborhood, and delivered rice and food to their neighbors. They also taught Korean songs to children and made accessories with the disabled in the complex. The proceeds from selling the accessories will be delivered to an institution for the disabled.
